Editorial - Laziness won't cut it
In rough times students can't afford to slack off

With budgets tightening and the college cutting corners,
The exceedingly tight state budget for 2010-2011 was released nearly a month ago, and our Board of Trustees has been discussing the implications.
It's tough out there and only the dedicated students will reach their goals.
Those who believe only the students trying to transfer to the top colleges are facing tough competition are fooling themselves. Students looking to move forward at all are finding it more difficult to accomplish that mission.
In order to map out a correct schedule, it's critical for students to meet with an academic counselor.
Counselors are flooded with adament students that plan wisely. It's nearly impossible to get a one-on-one meeting with them anymore.
Making matters worse, since Fall 2009, City College has already reduced about a hundred sections and won't be adding new ones.
When students postpone registering for next year's classes out of sheer laziness, it will be harder to sign up for the classes they need.
Sections are closing faster than before, and students must make sure to register on
