Brief-Los Baños del Mar Pool to be closed for summer; SBCC classes not affected

The Santa Barbara main community pool, Los Baños del Mar Pool, will be closed for renovations during the summer.
"The rehabilitation of the pool is necessary and they have been great in working with us on scheduling," said Kathy O'Connor.
Construction on the pool will take place from June 21 to August 29. During that time, workers will repair a pool wall to fix a stubborn leak. Among other minor maintenances, the pool will be replastered, something that is done every 10 years.
The pool's various activities at the pool for the summer will be relocated to different pools in Santa Barbara.
The pool renovation will not affect the PE classes at City College this summer because the swimming classes might start one week later that they are supposed to.
